There is a beauty that has never been tainted. A Mighty Force like no other. The Humble Beauty of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus, that dwells in the heart of every Christian. It has the power to renew and transform us into his likeness. Shining like a beacon of hope until the day He returns. -Lois Macdonald
Whether told through Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet or through the mythology of Helen of Troy, the power of physical beauty has been evident since the beginning of time. It is a force like no other. Praise-worthy when seen through the lens of nature and poetry. Destructive when tainted with pride and jealousy. “Thus, says the Lord God: “You were the seal of perfection. Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.” Ezekiel 28:12-15. God was speaking to Lucifer, his most beautiful angel. It is easy to imagine a monstrous, hideous devil, but beautiful, never! God continues to say, “You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you.” In verse 16, God banishes the rebellious angel, whom he had loved, ordained and anointed out of heaven. “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So, the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:7-9. (NIV)
Satan is the Spoiler. His first victory took place in the Garden of Eden, where he deceived Adam and Eve, desecrating the pure and perfect relationship between God and mankind. Knowing that one request from the lovely Eve would send Adam spiraling into an irrational tailspin! History repeated itself. Adam and his beautiful wife Eve had been blameless in all they did until Satan introduced them to evil. They were banished from the Garden.
Beauty inspires love songs and romantic novels, wins the leading roles in movies, etc., but only God can see whether the beauty is deep-rooted in the heart. “Let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” 1 Peter 3:4.
“Finally, there is a beauty that has never been tainted. A Mighty Force like no other. The Humble Beauty of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus, that dwells in the heart of every Christian. It has the power to renew and transform us into his likeness. Shining like a beacon of hope until the day He returns.” by Lois Macdonald
