A True Friend -By Lois Macdonald

A friend. Whether her face could launch a thousand ships like Helen of Troy, or could sink a battleship, either way, the gentle spirit of a true friend fills that empty void in your heart, and makes it whole. To you she is beautiful. Her arrival is always perfectly timed, for just when you are struggling to keep your head above water, Heaven opens its grand doors and tosses you a lifeline. A friend. Her many virtues are woven so tightly together that they will never break even under pressure. This new loyal companion has signed on board for the long-haul. Her sunny disposition wraps you in a warm blanket of unconditional love. A safe haven free of judgment, jealousy or self-centeredness, where you can expose your deepest innermost feelings and not be afraid. Her heart will ache when yours aches. She will celebrate your successes, without a hint of envy. Discretion is her middle name as she guards your secrets and confidences under lock and key. Yes, this friend is as close to an angel as you will encounter here on earth, but the best part is, she comes with a spontaneous sense of humor that can erupt at the strangest moments making even the dullest days, magical!

So whether your face could launch a thousand ships like Helen of Troy, or possibly sink a battleship, a true friend will make you feel beautiful inside and out.
